Many families move to home education after watching their children lose interest in learning, develop anxiety around traditional 'school'or resist the gentlest curriculum even at home.
You may have tried switching approaches, adjusting schedules, or finding the 'perfect' resources, and yet the tension remains.
Rest assured: It's not because you're doing something wrong. It's because the school-at-home system you've been using doesn't address how children naturally learn.
There is a way to do home education that feels peaceful and sustainable. You can create a home learning routine rooted in how your children naturally learn rather than how traditional schooling insists they should.
This training gives you a clear, informed starting point.
Our "First Steps" training will help you…
Start "deschooling " so you can feel confident guiding your child even when your home learning doesn't look traditional, because it's not meant to replicate what happens in a classroom.
Understand what's really happening when your child resists 'school' - it's not you. Or them.
Create a calmer, more intentional rhythm to your days that supports both learning and connection.
Start to recognize the natural learning already happening all around you and learn how to nurture and build from it.
Most importantly, you'll begin to see your child's learning through a lens that honors their unique strengths rather than where they aren't strong.
If homeschool has started to feel heavy, overwhelming or filled with daily resistance, this training offers a calm and clear beginning path forward.
You'll be guided through the first 4 steps grounded in over 40 years of educational research and real-world experience with families.
It starts with a step that will probably surprise you - It isn't a new curriculum, a different schedule, a reward system or a novel approach to the lessons you already tried.
This approach helps you
-
lower the tension in your home and eliminate the ‘stress’ around learning
-
rebuild your child's natural relationship with learning, and move forward with clarity
The best news is you don’t need an expensive new curriculum, a perfect schedule, or professional teaching credentials. You just have to understand your child and see learning in a different light.
You'll walk away with a calmer, clearer foundation for your home learning journey, a practical understanding of what's behind resistance and an strong introduction to a way to guide learning that feels more connected, joyful, and sustainable for your whole family - finally.

Zahra Lightway, M Ed, BA
co-founder, Light Way Learning and
creator of the Light Way System
I understand what it's like to watch children lose their spark in traditional schooling. I witnessed it for over a decade as a classroom teacher. That heartbreak led me to spend ten years researching how children actually learn best, drawing from 150+ years of alternative education research and real experience with hundreds of families.
I ran home-based youth programs and opened a micro-school to test out how the best in traditional and alternative education could synergize to support joyful learning.
From that a system grounded in self-directed learning emerged, the Light Way System. It gives parents what I wished I'd had: a clear, proven framework that honors how children naturally learn while giving families the structure, knowledge and support they need to feel confident.
This approach weaves together holistic educational principles, emotional intelligence, and collaborative decision-making tools, all designed to help you create a learning life that feels joyful and sustainable rather than stressful and overwhelming.
I hope to see you inside where you'll gain understanding and practical tools you can use right now to relieve the overwhelm and feel confident about your next steps.
